Crown Works

When the crown are carrying out building works, the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (Clause 109R) requires that they must be ‘certified by or on behalf of the Crown to comply with the technical provisions of the State’s building laws’.

To determine if the building works complies with the State building laws, i.e. the Environmental Planning and Assessment legislation and the Building Code of Australia, Metro Building Consultancy (MBC) can undertake the following activities:

  • Carry out design reviews of the building works
  • Prepare compliance reports on the proposed design
  • Certify that the final design complies with the requirements of Clause 109R of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act
  • Carry out inspections on the works and issue reports on their adequacy
  • Certify that the completed works comply with the requirements of Clause 109R of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act

Where the project requires submission of a Fire Safety Engineering Report to the NSW Fire Brigade, MBC will apply for and coordinate the issuing of the Brigade’s approvals.
